In light of Father’s Day being in June, I wanted to give the same amount of attention exploring the special gifts of men as I did for women last month. I initially pondered and explored with several women what the analogous title would be for men.
This past April, I attended a fitness conference entitled, Midlife Fitness for Women, which was offered by the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America. While at the conference, I came across a beautiful poem:
Many of us strive to achieve a balanced lifestyle. Many books are written about it, speakers try to motivate us to live it, and even body-lotion products are called “balance” to remind us of its importance on a daily basis.
Our children watch us closely: what we say, what we do, and how we act. And by doing so, they learn a lot about values without us even telling them. What messages are we giving children when we exercise on a regular basis?
